农八师下野地试验站,于一九六四年以乌克兰83为母本、华北187为父本进行有性杂交,单株选育成“4B—10—5”品系。一九八二年九月十八日经新疆维吾尔自治区农作物品种审定委员会举行的第三次全体会议上,被命名为“石冬一号”。 该品种在兵团、师组织的多次区域化试验中,具有早熟、抗寒、抗病、丰产性较好等优点,后又作了生产示范,目前已应用于大田生产。 主要特征、特性:此品种芽鞘绿色,幼苗叶片狭长纤细,深绿色,幼苗生长习性全匍匐。株高105—115厘米,茎秆坚韧,弹性好,成熟后茎秆黄色,落黄好。穗长7—9厘米,
