Buddist paintings, spread all over Shanxi, are gems of the Buddist art. Many artists from home and abroad frequently to this place find inspirations here, one of whom is ProL Cao Wen, - a wellknown woman painter in Shanxi province. Cao came to Shanxi after she was graduated from the Central’Artist College in 1964. From then on, she devotes herself to Buddist painting with her husband Pro f Shi Xiguang. Up to now, the couple have hosted 12 Buddist painting exhibitions in Wutai Mountain, Shanghai,Beijing, Guangzhou, Singapore,Japan and Hongkong, etc. Cao’s “Head Portrait of Bod-hisattvaGuanyin” has already been chosen to he shown on the Buddist Ceremony for Macao’s returning home. She successfully melts human kindness, soul purification into the dignified appearance of Guanyin,providing viewers with inspirations of kindness and beauty, and furnishing the world with spiritual wealth and art diversity.
