Henan is a microcosm of China. Improving urban and rural consumer demand in Henan Province can not only speed up the economic and social development of Henan Province but also promote the construction of the Central Plains Economic Zone. It can also provide some lessons for the urban and rural residents in central and western less developed areas to enhance consumer demand. The report of the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China put forward that we must firmly grasp the strategic starting point of expanding domestic demand, speed up the establishment of a long-term mechanism to expand consumer demand, release the consumption potential of urban and rural residents, maintain a reasonable growth of investment, and expand the size of the domestic market. Therefore, how to give play to the advantages of Henan Province as a province with a large population, effectively tap the potential of consumption, enhance the consumption of residents, and reasonably adjust the economic structure, so as to promote Henan Province
