A picture of the bodies of hundreds of Chinese civilians drifting across the river touched the Chinese writer Zhang Chunru. In 1997, Zhang Chunru’s “Nanjing Massacre” was published and quickly won the “New York Times” best-selling book. The book changed many people’s perspectives on the Asian battlefield in World War II. However, writing this book brought tremendous psychological pressure to Zhang Chunru. In 2004, she shot and killed herself. Zhang Chunru’s mother, Zhang Yingying, spent 6 years writing memoirs “Zhang Chunru: Women Who Cannot Forget History” and presented her daughter’s 36 years of life. This book is written by Ms. Zhang Yingying, a mother of pure, so she has concerns before reading.
