石阡县民族中学,是一所少数民族完中,全校学生现有2900余人,其中少数民族学生占82%,现有教职工203人,少数民族教师占73%,学校自成立以来,各届校领导十分重视党的民族政策的贯彻落实,不断探索特色办学的成功之路。学校确立“三特”办学目标,即“学校有特色,教师有特点,学生有特长”。校领导认真抓好教育教学,近几年教学质量不断提高,高考成绩突出,2005年高考成绩居全县同类学校第一名,2006年有多名学生考入“211”工程学院,学校开展教研教改取得可喜成果。近年来,有多项教研成果在全国、全省获奖。校领导重视民族文化教育的传承与发展。通过举办校园民族文化节和各种兴趣小组,培养学生对本民族民间文化教育的认同,激发学生的民族自豪感,民族自信心,热爱本民族的优秀文化。
