Malloch published a compelling paper in Mycology in 1976 titled “Browning Mushrooms: Cultivated Mushrooms.” The main argument is that the Agaricus brunnescens Peck is the same species as the Agaricus bisporus (Lange) Imbach and was first published in 1900, according to international priority rights, so it is recommended that Agaricus brunnescens Brown mushrooms replaced by the scientific name. Since then, some mushroom magazines in Europe and the United States have one after another
