广东省西江水上安全检查站座落于西江肇庆,于1996年1月设立,是广东省最早实行24小时全天候运作的检查站,日均检查船舶300余艘,接触船员逾千人次,是名符其实的“窗口”单位。建站后,特别是1997年创建文明行业以来。加强了“窗口”建设,取得了显著成绩。1997年5月和1998年7月先后被肇庆市交委、广东省交通厅确定为“为人民服务,树立行业新风示范窗口单位”;1998年1月被交通部安全监督局授予“文明执法示范窗口”称号。
