云南省口腔学会成立于1955年,建会之初,全省口腔科医生不到一百人,医疗力量薄弱,医技人员完全靠省外培养,党的十一届三中全会以后,口腔医学得到了很大发展,除兴办和健全了高级和中级口腔医学教育机构外,大多数县级以上医院陆续建立了口腔科;省内还设立了口腔疾病防治中心,口腔颌面外科学研究中心;昆明医学院设立了口腔医学研究室。我省现有口腔科专业医师发展到近四百人,他们正在为我省口腔疾病的防治,提高人民的口腔健康水平做出贡献。

There are currently nearly 400 dental professionals in our province, and they are contributing to the prevention and treatment of oral diseases in our province and the improvement of people's oral health.
