Vascular studies of patients with acute ischemic stroke will help define the location and extent of vascular occlusion, and especially when considering thrombolytic therapy, information on vascular status may be helpful for patient selection. This article aims to determine the role of CT angiography (CTA) in patients with clinical suspicion and acute hemisphere ischemia and to evaluate its role in the selection of thrombolytic therapy. This study compared the diagnostic accuracy of CTA with Doppler ultrasound (US) and digital subtraction (DSA). The whole group of 40 patients, 29 males and 11 females, mean age 58.2 ± 13.7 years, are clinically moderate ~ severe hemispheric ischemic signs (NIHSS score ≥ 8 points, and no improvement trend). All 40 cases were done CTA, 22 cases done US, 7 cases done DSA. Twenty patients underwent thrombolytic therapy in this group of patients, of whom 4 were locally injected with 1.5 million Urokinase
