天花粉是葫芦科植物栝楼(又名瓜蒌)的根。栝楼为多年生草质藤本。攀援茎;叶互生,有长柄,叶片近圆形或近心形,5—7掌状深裂;花萼连成筒状,花冠白色,上部5裂,裂片成丝状;果圆球形或长圆形,成熟时桔黄色。成熟的果皮叫瓜蒌皮,成熟的种子叫瓜蒌子(仁),均可入药。全国大部分地区都有分布,常野生于山坡草丛或林边的干燥向阳处。近年来,中国科学院有机化学研究所、生物化学研究所与上海几个医药单位协作,制成单味天花粉针剂。用天花
