中关村高科技园区有一位白发苍苍、精神矍烁、步履矫健的老人,备受人们的尊敬与爱戴。她就是中国科学院研究生院的83岁的李佩教授。“为大家服务是乐趣”是她的口头禅。1987年李佩教授离休,但她仍坚持为博士生讲授英语;并满腔热情地充分利用休息时间,为中关村的专家、学者和离退休的老年朋友服务,慰问病号,关心生活,排忧解难;提供咨询,谈心交流。在李佩教授的影响下,诸多志同道合者聚拢来了。1995年,在李佩教授主持下,建立了中关村老年互助服务中心(以下简称中心)。推动了“服务”深化、升华。在“服务”的进程中,志愿者队伍不断壮大,退休医生志愿者、生活小区志
