近年来,在收获时看来是好果的猕猴桃,而在后熟处理中果肉的一部分发生圆形的软腐症状。这种病在日本猕猴桃栽培地区几乎均有发生,成为一大问题。而且世界猕猴桃输出国新西兰近年也有同样的果实软腐病及其防治方法研究的报导。关于软腐病的发生原因,从发生情况及其症状看可能是由于蝽类吸取果汁的结果,并以防治该虫为主研究了防治方法。但是,随着观察和试验的深入,很难说只是蝽类危害,开始提出几个方面的原因,现在从蝽类和病原菌为害两方面来探讨其防治
