Fritillaria taipalensis P. Y. Li vat. ningxiaens(宁夏贝母), a member of family Liliaceae, a new species recently discovered, is distributed over the MontLiupan District & MontLuo District of Ningxia. Its subterranean bulb has been used as a medicinal herb in folk practice bearing functions of antipyretics, respiration promotion, antitussive agents,and expectorants, and recently used as a substitute for Chuanbeimu(川贝母, F. cirrhosa D.
