《中华人民共和国计量法》经全周人大常委会通过,并由中华人民共和国主席于一九八五年九月六日以命令形式公布。计量法的核心是确保国家计量单位制度的统一和全国量值的统一。计量法规定,我国采用国际单位制和以国际单位制单位为基础的法定计量单位,市制、英制等非法定计量单位要限制使用,逐步废除。《计量法》的公布和《命令》的发布,是关系到我国经济建设以及科学技术、文化教育的发展和国际交流的一件大事,标志着我国计量事业、计量科学技术发展到了一个新阶
