The cover of “Hope” is based on the fourth engraving of the weaver “Keiko” by the German female printmaker Keisuke Koehler, whom Lu Xun likes and respects. The picture is labored by sucking blood, with only poor weapons in hand, as well as women and children falling asleep on their shoulders. The author, a powerful man who painstakingly worked hard and struggling, suffered the pain of Nazi oppression and war and heard that last year she died in Germany, which finally got rid of the Nazi chain. In commemoration of her dedication to the working people and the excitement of the Chinese people’s art, I chose this one as a cover. Although we can not publicly mourn her, the intended readers will understand.
