纳德·马拉默德代表作《店员》既描写了“为人类赎罪而受苦”的犹太人,也描写了“最后皈依犹太教的非犹太人”。犹太性和道德再生通常被国内外的学者认为是该作品的主题,批评家们也从各种不同的角度对该部作品进行了分析与研究。但是,目前还鲜有学者将研究的重点置于小说中犹太老者莫里斯的精神导师形象上,因此,从这一角度出发可以对马拉默德这部小说提供一个新的研究视角,也可以对作者有一个全新的认识,他不仅关注着他的犹太兄弟,更关注着整个人类的生存状态。
Nader Malamud’s masterpiece “Clerks” describes both “Jews who suffer from atonement for humanity” and also describes “Jews who finally converted to Judaism”. Jewishness and moral regeneration are usually regarded as the theme of the work by domestic and foreign scholars. Critics also analyzed and studied the work of the Ministry from various angles. However, few scholars have focused on the spiritual mentor of the Jewish Morris in the novel. Therefore, from this point of view, it is possible to provide a new research perspective on the novel of Malamud. The author has a new understanding, he not only concerned about his Jewish brother, but also concerned about the entire state of human existence.
