前言日本果树的根癌病是引进苗木时,不注意检疫从国外带进的。1890年最初发生在和歌山县和大阪府从南美引进的樱桃上,以后随苗木在各地的扩散,传染到了其他果树上并造成了危害。关于葡萄根癌病,1912年从北美引进的葡萄苗木有发病的记载,后来没有发现有恒常的危害,于是该病未形成问题。近几年在岩手、山形、长野、山梨、岛根各县均有该病发生,由于对该惰的研究尚不完全,因此至今尚无有效的防治方法。
