在新诗命运何去何从的严肃思考中,穆旦应时提出了“新的抒情”的诗歌主张。这一主张在认同传统抒情本质的同时将理性精神引入“抒情”范畴,追求以新的形象、新的表达方式具体形象地写出时代的内容与“发现底惊异”。
In the serious thinking of the fate of new poetry, Mu Dan timely put forward the “new lyricism” in poetry. While advocating the essence of traditional lyricism, this proposition introduces the rational spirit into the category of “lyricism” and pursues the concrete writing of the content of the times and “discovering the end of the world with new images and new forms of expression.”
