一九五四年(北京)四月一日至四月五日徐树丕《识小录》言明末吴中演戏情况云:“吴中辛巳奇荒之后,优人鲜衣美食,横行里中,人家做戏一本,资至十余金。然必有乡绅主之,人家惴惴奉之,得一日无事便厚幸矣。屠沽儿家,以做戏为荣,里巷相高,至此辈益无忌惮。”(已录人华东戏曲改革干部工作会议纪念册第八、九页中)所记为崇祯十四年事。《清嘉录》卷二引汤文正抚吴告谕云:“地方无赖棍徒,借祈年报赛为名,每至春时,出头敛财,排门科派,于田头空旷之地,高搭戏台,哄动远近,男妇群聚往观,举国若狂。”则是清初吴中事也。《清嘉录》为道光时顾
