主作根系对再生稻生长发育起着主导作用,新生根只起着一定的辅助作用.再生稻产生新根数目多少是由品种特性和栽培条件决定的.新生根主要在孕穗期以前产生,以后产生较少,只是伸长、增粗、分枝,此时的主作根系已不再生长.在再生稻整个生育期间,根系干重/根系鲜重变化呈一“V”型曲线,主作根系活力变化呈一“S”型曲线.且根系活力最强时期在灌浆期前后.获得再生稻高产的前提是将健壮的主作根系和一定数量的新根有效地结合起来.
