[The 3rd International Symposium on Solar Cooker was held in Coimbatore, India from January 6 to January 10, 1997. The conference proposed the international standard for solar cooker test and performance evaluation. Later, Funk, a scientist at the USDA’s Center for Agricultural Research, used the experimental data to evaluate the standard, which is not only easy to use, but also provides good predictions of the thermal performance of the solar cookers.
