“东州”一词,典籍时见,所指何地,各词典或付阙如,或予测度,未足征信。《辞源》、《辞海》、《汉语大词典》及复旦大学历史地理研究所编撰的《中国历史地名辞典》皆未收其词。臧励穌等编《中国古今地名大辞典》云:“东州,辽置。今阙。当在奉天境。”奉天大致相当于今辽宁省。此为揣测之辞。台湾《中文大辞典》云:“东州,地名,即束州。按《太平寰宇记》
