郁文同志曾任中国社会科学院党委书记、副院长,1995年7月至2001年12月,曾任中国地方志指导小组常务副组长。郁文同志主持中国地方志指导小组工作期间,集思广益,实事求是,明确地方志工作的方针任务,充分团结和发挥指导小组成员及其办公室工作人员的积极性、创造性,召开了全国地方志第二次工作会议和中国地方志协会第三届理事会。在推动修志工作法制化建设,健全全国修志机构特别是指导小组及其办公室机构,推动首轮新方志编修和布置第二轮新方志编修,以及开展读志用志工作等方面倾注了大量的心血。郁文同志主持中国地方志指导小组工作期间,虽年事已高,但为了地方志事业,他不顾疲劳和病痛,工作严肃认真,作风踏实,四处奔走,调查研究。中国地方志指导小组常务副组长是郁文生前最后一个重要工作岗位。在这个岗位上,他付出了满腔热情和极大辛劳,作出了杰出贡献。本刊值郁文同志逝世两周年之际,特
