According to a study by Scientia Horticulturae (2013.09.034), a study by Primo Proviet et al. From the University of Perugia, Italy, shows that selenium can protect Olea europaea L. from drought stress. The purpose of this study was to evaluate whether selenium can effectively reduce the stress caused by drought on olive. Sodium selenate (selenium 50 mg / L and 150 mg / L) was sprayed on leaves of young olive trees (Maurino cultivars) under water stress. The researchers compared the gas exchange, relative water content (RWC) and fruit yield of olive trees under normal water supply and drought stress.
