卢森堡是一个面积只有2586平方公里、44万人口的小国。该国不仅山川秀丽,环境优美,而且经济高度发达,多年来,人均国内生产总值位居世界之首,2005年高达5.8万欧元。卢森堡的经济崛起,首先得益于开发铁矿和煤矿。1858年卢森堡建成了第一座用焦炭炼钢的高炉。二战后,冶金工业成为卢森堡唯一的支柱产业。1970年,卢森堡钢产量高达546万吨,至今仍保持360多万吨,人均钢产量一直为世界之首。
Luxembourg is a small country with an area of 2586 square kilometers and a population of 440,000. The country is not only beautiful mountains and rivers, beautiful environment, but also highly developed economy. Over the years, per capita GDP ranks first in the world, up to 58,000 euros in 2005. The economic rise of Luxembourg first benefits from the development of iron ore and coal mines. In 1858, Luxembourg built its first blast furnace made of coke steel. After World War II, the metallurgical industry became the only pillar industry in Luxembourg. In 1970, Luxembourg’s steel output reached 5.46 million tons, and it still maintains more than 3.6 million tons. The per capita steel output has always been the highest in the world.
