Have you ever heard of a moon base? Why do people want to build a moon base? And how to build a moon base? By Tian Bing
By the end of December 2013, people launched 130 human lunar probes in total. With the continuous improvement of lunar exploration technology, some new ways of exploring the moon appeared, including establishing permanent bases on the moon. This is conducive to large-scaled develop the important resources on the moon, such as helium-3; At the same time, it can be used to fully conduct scientific research, such as to establish the wavelength of astronomical observatory using the advantage that the moon has not atmosphere the moon.
  Focus on The Arctic
Generally speaking, the moon base location will need two basic requirements, plenty of sunshine and abundant ice water. For now, the best construction area is the lunar poles, because the surface is smooth and is appropriate for lunar spacecraft to take off or to land on the moon. In addition, water is concentrated in the moon's North Pole and not so much in the moon's South Pole, so it makes sense building a moon base on the moon's North Pole.
  American Blueprint
Currently, the United States is the world leader in the study of lunar bases. The plan from them is to launch some lunar probes to measure the surface space environment, collect data on the moon's soil and rock composition, draw the detailed resource’s pictures about the moon, and provide detailed moon surface topography data, so it’s easier to find a landing site location for robots or lunar rovers. The next phase is to use these robots and rovers to investigate the best area for satellites and to get ready for to set up the location for the moon base. After this step completed, manned explorations will be done.
  Three steps to be implemented
1.Preparation stage: make first-phase preparations for choosing a moon base and completing the moon base construction.
2.Primary base construction stage: send the astronauts and equipment to the polar regions of the moon for assembly.
3.Development stage: develop a primary polar base and followed up with a more sophisticated one on the moon and expand the base members from 6 to 12 people. They will stay there from 3 to 6 months and the polar habitation will be developed from 2 ~ 3 to 5 ~ 7.
