百合,状似白莲化。它的鳞茎有二、三十瓣,重叠累生在一起,好象百片合成似的,所以称百合。百合两字有“百事合心”“百年和合”的含意。所以我国人民自古以来就把百合看作百事随心、和睦相处的象征。百合在我国已有一千多年栽培史。过去,民间每逢喜庆的日子,常把百合作为礼品而相互馈赠。有的地方,在儿女婚嫁的时候,必定要在妆奁中放一个完整无缺的百合,祝其百年合好、大吉大利。宋代诗人陆游曾在窗前种植了百合花卉,并作诗说:“芳兰移取偏林中,余地何妨种玉簪,更乞两丛香丰合,老翁七十尚童心。”唐代王右丞也有专咏百合的诗句,他的《百合》诗长达120个字,对百合的滋补作用给予了很高的评价。在国外,百合同样受人喜爱。早是2000年前,国外就有一句谚语:“百合花赛
