一、湛江港概况和以前的卫生状况湛江港1956年正式投产,现有三个装卸作业区,17个深水码头泊位,库场面积(不包括石油区)27万M~2。1976年以来,平均每年有一千四百多艘船舶进港。年货物吞吐量一千万吨以上。建设中的第四装卸作业区,7个码头泊位计划在1985年前交付使用。湛江港地处广东雷州半岛东北部的雷州湾内,热季长,寒季短,属亚热带海洋性气候。因在建港过程中对卫生设施考虑不全面,且卫生制度不建全,管理不科学,所以港区内曾经垃圾堆积如山,厕所堵塞,粪水外流;沟渠淤阻,污水横流;蚊蝇孳生地触目
