《回族人物志》是中国第一部系统的回族历史人物合传 ,具有重要的学术价值。从回族史研究来看 ,它在历史研究的指导思想、新型回族史的编撰体例等方面 ,提出了许多可资借鉴的设想 ;从历史人物研究来看 ,它在人物评价的基本原则与正确处理民族情感方面 ,具有突出的理论建树 ;从史学史研究与民族史学研究角度看 ,它在史料搜集、整理、运用和体例制定、文字表述等方面 ,均有相关理论论述与具体成就 ,具备了多方面的参考价值。
