Kadsura japonica Dunal is a Schisandraceae plant. Its rhizome can treat poisonous snake bites and has antipyretic, antispasmodic and analgesic effects. We have screened folk prescriptions for the treatment of rheumatic pain in Taiwan. It was found that the methylene chloride extract of Rhododendron snake rhizome has a stronger effect on the binding of leukotriene C_4 to the receptor. However, its activity decreased significantly when it continued to separate.
