Gamma-glutamyl transpeptidase (γ-GT) is a membrane-bound enzyme that is closely related to the action of cell membrane-bound amino acids. Its activity is high in the fetus and liver cancer. From geographical distribution and epidemiological research data, it is believed that AFT may be one of the carcinogenic factors of human liver cancer. We measured changes in pre-cancerous liver tissue γ-GT activity in an experiment in which AFT induced rat liver cancer formation. It has been reported that the synthetic antioxidants BHA and VitB_2 can inhibit the carcinogenic effects of certain carcinogens. We also determined the change of γ-GT activity in precancerous liver tissue in experiments in which BHA and VitB_2 inhibited AFT-induced hepatoma formation in rats.
