Shen Zhenxin, former vice mayor of Nantong, Jiangsu and current deputy director of the Taihu Water Pollution Prevention Office, was sanctioned from his posts in the government and the Party. The news was just released in Middle August.
Shen Zhenxin was born in 1962 and graduated from a teacher training college in 1982. Then he worked in several counties under Nantong. From May 2002 to January 2008, he took the Party Secretary of Qidong, Jiangsu. After that he worked as the vice mayor of Nantong till June 2012 before he was moved the Taihu Water Pollution Prevention Office. However, he stayed in this position for only one month before he was revealed to have corrupt problems during his tenure in Qidong.
Local officials of Qidong said that Shen did contribute a lot to the development of Qidong. The Chongming-Qidong Bridge was widely praised by locals. “Shen Zhenxin came from Haimen. But he made the bridge that connected to Shanghai in Qidong. The establishment of this bridge brought about undeniable contributions to the development of Qidong.”
However, Shen was beyond himself when it came to the economic interest and problems during the development. When he was in Qidong, he got acquainted with several enterprises. Though there are no proofs that these enterprises are related with his corrupt, officials said that some of them were indeed involved and the result could be only seen when the investigation is over.
