Objective: To investigate the correlation between cystatin C, homocysteine and diabetic microangiopathy. Methods: 92 cases of diabetic patients admitted to Jiangmen Municipal People’s Hospital in recent years were divided into monosaccharide group and microangiopathy group according to their condition, which were 44 cases and 48 cases respectively. Forty-six healthy adults were selected as the normal control group, and the levels of homocysteine (Hcy) and cystatin C (CysC) in the three groups were detected. Results: The levels of Hcy and CysC in the diseased group were significantly higher than those in the monosaccharide group and the normal group (P <0.05). The levels of Hcy and CysC in the monosaccharide group were not significantly different from those in the normal group (P> 0.05 ). Conclusion: There is a certain relationship between Hcy level and CysC level and diabetic microangiopathy, which may be used as an important index to prevent the occurrence of microangiopathy in diabetic patients.
