The directional effect of shaped explosives is a well-known feature that has been used for a long time in military weapons, well bores, and the steel industry. Blasi Leroy Oil Company has successfully applied such explosives to earthquake energy over the past three years under different surface and geological conditions. The first-order amplitude, measured with a shallow-refractor at constant gain, illustrates the difference between conventional and formed explosives. Recently, similar differences have also been observed in deep reflection energy and deep well velocity measurements recorded with digital binary instrumentation. The result is consistent with the direct ratio of the hinge to the field profile covering more than 50 km over several passes, and the actual merits of this source have been demonstrated compared to conventional explosives. This source has been used for general seismic work in the Amazon forests since 1971. The distribution of low-volume, multi-shotholes in units of 300 grams of explosives has substantially increased coverage and reduced costs by half in improving recording quality. In other areas, a large number of field seismic production work also proved that the application of formed explosives was quite successful.
