1995年5月召开的全国科学技术大会上,时任中共中央总书记的江泽民正式提出“科教兴国”战略。这是继1956年号召“向科学进军”、1978年全国科学大会之后,中国科技事业发展进程中第三个重要里程碑。改革开放30年来,我国的科技事业蓬勃发展,科技实力持续增强,自主创新能力稳步提高,相继取得了一系列举世瞩目的科研成果,有力地推进了高技术产业发展和国际竞争力的提高。
At the National Science and Technology Conference held in May 1995, Jiang Zemin, then general secretary of the CPC Central Committee, formally proposed the strategy of “rejuvenating China through science and education”. This is the third major milestone in the development of China's science and technology since the call of 1956 to “march into science” and the 1978 National Science Conference. In the 30 years since the reform and opening up, China's science and technology undertakes a thriving development. Its science and technology strength has been continuously enhanced. Its capability of independent innovation has been steadily improved. A series of remarkable scientific achievements have been made in succession, which have effectively promoted the development of high-tech industries and the improvement of international competitiveness.
