全部供试稻种类型都具有 EstA1,EstA10,EstA15三条酶带表明,云南的籼,粳稻和光稃稻在起源上是同源的;籼、粳稻在酯酶同工酶上的明显差异又表明,在人类长期驯化过程中籼、粳稻不论在形态、生态及杂交亲和力上,还是在酯酶同工酶上都发生了深刻的变化。酯酶同工酶上同样证明,云南光稃稻是云南栽培稻中最复杂的一种稻种类型,它的多样性表明,云南是粳稻的一个重要分化中心。
