According to Synergy Research Group, an industry consultancy, Nortel Networks Multiservice WAN switches rank first in both Asia and Europe. Nortel Networks holds 52% of the market in Asia, surpassing the second place by 37%. In Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Nortel has a 44% market share, 23% more than the second place. In addition, a report by Infonetics Research, an industry consulting firm, shows Nortel Networks was the No. 1 in the core switch market for ATMs in the third quarter of 2001. Dell’Oro Group and Cahners In-Star also ranked Nortel Networks as a global leader in multiservice switching for the third quarter of 2001.
