Archeological data show that in the tombs of the Tang Dynasty in Xi’an, large stone burial mounds, such as stone coffins, stone tomb doors and epitaphs, are often placed in the tombs of the Tang Dynasty in Xi’an. They are intended to reproduce the dwelling places of the tomb masters and represent noble or special funeral rituals of their status. At present, some scholars have made special studies on the stone tomb doors and epitaphs in the tombs of the Northern Sui and Tang dynasties, but there are relatively few studies on the stone dwarfs (1).
