乌溪江水库位于浙江衢州市湖南镇附近,坝高129米,正常高水位230米,自1979年1月12日截流蓄水至同年10月7日库水位达到195.3米时,在大坝上游16公里的库区高山—淤头一带发生了M_L=3.4级(M_S=2.8级)有感地震,震中烈度为V度,此后微震不断发生,至1982年5月22日在同一地区又发生了M_L=3.2级(M_S=2.5级)地震。
