《易俗社秦腔剧本选》,是为了纪念易俗社成立七十周年而出版的。收入在这个选集中的剧本,是易俗社重要作家的重要作品。它反映着易俗社自成立以来到1949年三十七年中各阶段上的主要活动,也反映着当代人民的思想情绪。这个选集,既有戏剧创作方面的意义,又有史料研究方面的价值。易俗社是一个熔戏剧演出和培养演员于一炉的戏曲团体。创建于1912年,也即是辛亥革命(1911年)后一年。一些受西方资产阶级民主主义思想影响的知识分子,他们忧国伤时,深感于国家的贫弱和人民的愚昧,主张改革戏曲,作为进行“社会教育”的补助,以达到“开展民智”、“移风易
