This article briefly discusses the establishment of the U.S. economic indicator system. The concrete case of the declining economic vitality of the United States in October 1990 illustrates the use of the system by the industrial and political sectors. At the end of the article, I put forward some opinions on the importance of the economic index system to the transition period of the Soviet Union to the market economy. I also put forward some concrete suggestions on how to establish such a system. In all western developed countries, there is one or some form of economic indicator system.
