上海港要建成国际性航运中心,保持集装箱运输的通畅是不可或缺的前提条件。在港口集装箱集疏运系统中,大力发展集装箱海铁联运是实现可持续发展的战略举措。因为铁路运输相对于公路运输而言,是比较经济合理、低污染的运输方式。在我国土地资源紧缺、公路交通压力较大的情况下,发展铁路集装箱运输是明智的选择。
