明代有个大官,名叫宋濂。有一次,他给一位年轻的同乡写了一封信,说了自己当年勤奋学习的事:我年幼的时候就喜欢学习,但是家里穷,没钱买书,我就常常问家里有藏书的人借,借了抄下来,约好日期送回去。天气特别寒冷的时候,砚台中的水结成了硬硬的冰,手指冻得伸不直也弯不起,即使这样我也不敢懈怠。抄写完赶快跑去送还人家,一点儿都不敢超过约定的期限。因为这样,人们都很愿意把书借给我,我也因此而读了很多书。成年后,我更加仰慕圣贤的学说,又担心不能结交学识渊博的老师和名人,就远走百里之外,手拿经书,向同乡的前辈求教。前辈学问好,名望大,门人学生挤
