The toxicity and mechanism of heavy metal elements to organisms has been a hot spot in recent years. Domestic and foreign scholars generally believe that excessive heavy metals into the body, can cause multiple organ damage, such as hemorrhagic gastroenteritis, liver necrosis, cancer, and even lead to death. There are many ways to enter the body of heavy metals, such as gastrointestinal absorption, skin absorption and so on. This review summarizes the research progress of the changes of brain function caused by heavy metals through the olfactory nerve pathway and its mechanism. It focuses on the entry and deposition of heavy metals into brain tissue, resulting in toxicity to nerve cells, resulting in dysfunction of nerve cells and degeneration and death of nerve cells. Cause changes in animal behavior.
