夸张,是文艺创作中经常用到的一种笔法。高尔基说:“夸张是创作的基本原则。”端木蕻良也说:“艺术的夸张,不仅允许,而且必要。”在古今中外的文学作品中,夸张手法的运用比比皆是。“力拔山兮气盖世”是夸张,“笔落惊风雨,诗成泣鬼神”是夸张,“蜀道之难,难于上青天”也是夸张。《唐·吉诃德》中唐·吉诃德不谙时务的骑士精神是夸张,《三国演义》中刘备的仁厚、关羽的忠义、张飞的威猛、诸葛亮的机智也是夸张……以下三篇文章《为徐敬业讨武曌檄》《扯皮处的解散》《新鲜空气》也都很好地运用了夸张这一传统的艺术表现手法。
