First, the formation of the reason for the electric double layer Current through the two types of conductors contact the interface, will inevitably lead to the electrode reaction. Because such reactions occur at the two-phase interface, the state and nature of the interface naturally have a large impact on the progress of the reaction. Therefore, before discussing the electrode reaction on the interface, you should have a preliminary understanding of the state of the interface between the electrode and the solution. Due to various reasons, there may be various forms of electric double layer between the electrode and the solution interface. However, the most relevant relationship with the electrode reaction is the formation of an electric double layer with a layer of charges on the surface of the electrode, and another layer of oppositely charged charges in the solution layer abutting the surface of the electrode. Can be called ion double layer. The electric double layer usually mentioned in electrochemistry. All refer to this double layer.
