以作物产量研究的三个主要理论为基础提出了棉花产量育种研究集成模式，并从三个方面对提高棉花产量潜力作了简要的分析，认为未来棉花育种的主流趋势必将是生物学产量、收获指数和库容量三大性状的联合改良。
Based on the three main theories of crop production, this paper put forward the integrated model of cotton yield breeding research and briefly analyzed the potential of cotton yield increase from three aspects. The main trend of cotton breeding in the future is bound to be biological yield, Harvest index and the capacity of the three major trait joint improvement.
