Hu Jintao, general secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and state president,recently wrote a letter to the China Society for Human Rights Studies (CSHRS).The letter was published on December 10, 2008.Social circles have responded enthusiastically to the letter.On December 16, 2008 the society held a forum where participants discussed important ideas Hu expresses in his letter.
