为庆祝‘97香港回归祖国’,“中国艺术大展·中国当代雕塑艺术展”将于1997年7月1日-7日在中国美术馆举行。为此,文化部于1996年11月5日在北京饭店贵宾楼召开了新闻发布会。由于“中国当代雕塑艺术展”是国内首次全国性的雕塑艺术主题展,将于‘97香港回归祖国’这个具有重大意义的历史时刻推出更具特珠意义。大展组委会副主任、文化部副部长李源潮同志对此十分关注,并对雕塑展执委会有关同志讲:“‘97香港回归祖国’是个大题目,希望这次展览要像以往的全国体育美展一样,要出精品,要出几件好的作品留下来。你们执委会不仅要广泛宣传,还要重点抓一下创作,我们也要帮助你们宣传,让我们共同努力,推动我国雕塑艺术的发展。”
To celebrate the ’97 Hong Kong’s return to the motherland, ’China Art Exhibition and Contemporary Chinese Sculpture Exhibition will be held from July 1 to July 7, 1997 at the China Art Museum.
