Scientists at the University of Washington, USA, learned from wood fossils (?) Inventing a new method for producing high-strength hardwood. Its production process is to fill the wood cell structure with ceramic materials. The researchers call this process “wood ceramicization”. At present, scientists have successfully conducted pottery experiments on Douglas-fir, Hemlock, Southern Pine, Red Oak, Red Oak and American Black Poplar. The measurement results show that, with different types of trees, the hardness of ceramic wood is 50 to 90% higher than that of ordinary wood and the strength is 20 to 120%. The success of research on pottery wood will greatly increase the value of wood.
